Dr. Steve Tepper Receives the Barbara Cossoy Service Award

We are proud to announce Dr. Steve Tepper is the recipient of the Barbara Cossoy Service Award for making made extraordinary contributions to the University of Delaware’s Physical Therapy Program.  The Cossoy award is presented annually to an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to the University of Delaware’s Physical Therapy Program.  Dr. Tepper was honored due his innumerable contributions to the University of Delaware students, faculty, and profession. He has brightened their classroom with his engaging teaching style and upported student fundraising efforts by donating his time to continuing education courses.  He has donated generously to the Foundation for Physical Therapy that funds peer-reviewed physical therapy research.  In addition, he has worked tirelessly to reduce variability of instruction amongst physical therapist educational programs.  The University of Delaware students know him as someone who is passionate, an expert in his own right, and one of their biggest cheerleaders. Barbara Cossoy, for whom this award is named, was the founding director of this program and her contributions to this department and the physical therapy profession have been enormous. Barb died in 1985 while still serving as director of this program. From all acknowledgments, it is clear that she served as an example of outstanding service to the Department, the profession, and the community.
