PT 641: Introduction to Health-focused, Lifestyle Intervention
The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to Health-focused, Lifestyle Intervention [HFLI] and to build the context for the importance of integrated lifestyle intervention teams. The first section of the course defines the public health context for HFLI teams, identifies the target patient population, and presents the core competencies required to participate in and lead HFLI teams. The second section provides an understanding of the ecological framework for health promotion and wellness; the importance of assessing the community context within which a HFLI team will operate; and discusses the relationship among models of health behavior and health-focused intervention. The final section of this course will address how to build HFLI teams.
