Course Overview

This
course examines health science curriculum design, including discussion of development
of mission, vision, philosophy and outcomes.
Consideration of course sequencing, role of faculty in curriculum
development, use of instructional resources and formats of content delivery are
also examined.  Specifics include
elements of course design such as formulation of course objectives, syllabus
development, content sequencing, use of instructional technologies and learning
management systems.  Innovative Teaching
Strategies used in the health sciences education such as distance, hybrid and
flipped classroom delivery methods are examined.
