PT 691.01 Health Science Education Foundations I; Educational Theory and Methods

This course highlights the history of health sciences professional education, exploring in particular the evolution of teaching/learning methodologies used in the health sciences to best engage student learners. Higher education institution characteristics and expectations as they have influenced teaching methods are discussed.  Current methods and their benefits, constraints and required resources are examined, and evidence of success including reported outcomes using these methods are considered.
