Ron Scott, PT, JD, LLM, MA (Spanish), MSBA, MSPT (Orthopedics), is a Texas-licensed attorney-counsel to PTs and health and business professionals, and an attorney-mediator, principally through the Bexar County Justice Center, San Antonio, Texas. He has authored 13 texts and 125 articles, most recently Legal, Ethical and Practical Aspects of Patient Care Documentation, 4th ed., (2013) and PTs in Government Service: Assessing Job Satisfaction in the UK’s NHS and the US Veterans Health Administration (Advance for PT and Rehab Medicine, Dec. 19, 2013). Ron is currently co-lead editor and contributor for Kauffman’s Comprehensive Guide to Geriatric Rehabilitation, 3rd ed. (to be published in 2015). He is Associate Professor, RMUOHP, and adjunct faculty in 7 other programs, educating PTs, OTs, APNs and O&P professionals, and a retired Army Major, having served in the AMSC and JAGC, and as an enlisted hospital corpsman during the Vietnam War. Ron’s passions for teaching and learning focus on facilitating doctoral students’ development of higher-order critical analytical legal and ethical skill sets, requisite for successful clinical practice and patient outcomes, management, leadership and advancement of the profession.
